Due to grey skies, we walked with brollies this afternoon, over to Salmond Place. The light rain let up; the wind didn’t.

Looped around Calton Hill and happened upon the Robert Burns Monument.

Farther down the Regent Rd was this view, with Arthur’s Seat the highest point on the right.

Here you can see (left) Palace of Holyroodhouse, where the Queen stays when she’s in town; and the new (2004) Scottish Parliament, where we will take the tour one of these days.

The following images feature an Art Deco building by Thomas Tait. It’s the headquarters of the Scottish Government and a real beaut.
